LaValle Flooring Success Stories
We installed Ecore Rolled Rubber and Rage Turf at Anytime Fitness in Jamestown, North Dakota in summer of 2023.
Prepping the Floors
Floor Prep Was Crucial
Before we could start installing either the rubber or turf floors, we had to do relative humidity testing using Wagner Rapid RH test probes. Unfortunately, the RH test results came in at 99% and the Egrip III adhesive was only rated for 85% RH. Thankfully, our friends at Ardex saved us with their MC Rapid Moisture Vapor Retarder.
Floor Prep Steps:
✅ Perform RH testing to comply with ASTM F710 and F2170.
✅ Sand floors of contaminants and fill cracks.
✅ Apply Ardex MC Rapid Moisture Vapor Retarder to concrete substrate.
Once this work was done, we could continue with the installation of the Ecore International Rage Turf and Rolled Rubber Flooring at the Anytime Fitness in the Buffalo Mall.

The Finished Rubber & Turf Flooring
Once all the floor prep was done, we could proceed with the installation of the Rage Turf and Motivate Rolled Rubber Flooring for Anytime Fitness.
Challenges in Installing Rubber & Turg:
✅ The rubber rolls are heavy and require multiple people to safely move around the jobsite.
✅ The rolls of turf are not only heavy, but at 6′ wide, they were harder to maneuver than the rolled rubber.
✅ The Egrip III adhesive has a short open time and is rather difficult to trowel to those used to spreading carpet or lvt adhesive. We had three guys spreading glue per 60′ run of rolled rubber.
✅ Lowering the rubber or truf into the adhesive requires a team effort, as you have to carefully lower the material into place to avoid trapping air in pockets. Given the short working time, ensuring the seams will line up and having everyone understand what to do is paramount.
This was our first large rubber and turf job and it turned out great. Team work was crucial, we had 7 guys present and were able to install over 2,500sqft of rubber and turf in under 6 hours. The staging and delivery took almost as long as the installation itself.
